A special survey released in April 2004 shows that the average life expectancy of intellectuals in China is 58, which is about 10 years lower than the average life expectancy of the people in the country. The average death age of Zhongguancun intellectuals in Beijing is 5334, 5 times shorter than 10 years ago. 18 years old, the main reason is “overworked.” Many of them are successful entrepreneurs and intellectual elites, such as Peng Zuoyi, chief executive of Tsingtao Brewery, Yang Mai, president of Ericsson China Ltd., Gao Wenhuan, a professor at Tsinghua University, and Liu Bingsen, a famous calligrapher.
