[Objective] To observe the change of mineral level in patients with chronic cadmium poisoning and provide references for the treatment of chronic cadmium poisoning. [Method] The 200 workers who had been diagnosed as chronic cadmium poisoning in a nickel-cadmium factory were selected as the observation group and 200 healthy employees in the plant were taken as the control group. The level of cadmium (Cd), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and selenium (Se) Referred to as concentration), and statistical analysis. [Results] The concentrations of Ca, Zn, Fe, Cu and Se in the urine of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P <0.01), while the concentrations of Ca, Zn, Fe and Cu in the observation group were lower than those of the control group 0.01). There were significant differences in the concentration of Zn, Cu and Se in the observation group with different levels of urinary Cd (P <0.05), while there was no significant difference in the concentrations of Ca, Mg and Fe (P> 0.05). There were significant differences in concentration of Fe and Cu in different blood cadmium levels (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in concentration of Ca, Mg, Zn and Se (P> 0.05). [Conclusion] Chronic cadmium poisoning may lead to disorder of mineral metabolism in human body, especially to Ca, Zn, Fe and Cu.
