Tower Tolstoy belongs to Russia’s “eighties new writer” (or “thirty-year-old writer”), is a new generation of literary world. As an anti-traditional generation, Tolstäya paid more attention to the fate of those lower-class, marginalized people. She once said something about her creation: “I’m interested in those who are ’out of the way’ and usually we turn a blind eye to them, thinking they are absurd, too lazy to listen to their voices and to see their pain, and they often do not get it Some important thing disappeared from the world, just go away, and children asleep: ’The festival is over, where is the gift?’ In fact, life itself is a gift, they are gifts, but not People explain this to them. ”Tolstaya now lives in Princeton, USA, teaching Russian literature at the university.
