尤金·奥尼尔是美国表现主义戏剧大师。本文以其早期剧作《毛猿》为研究对象,意欲展示此剧中表现主义手法的运用及其产生的效果。在这部作品中,奥尼尔巧妙地运用了面具、独白、象征、非现实主义布景等各种手法来外化人物复杂的内心世界,揭示戏剧主题和烘托渲染舞台气氛。本文共分三大部分:第一部分简单介绍剧作《毛猿》;第二部分是本文的核心部分,着重介绍此剧中的表现主义技巧及其产生的效果;第三部分是论文的结论部分。
Eugene O’Neill is an American Expressionist master. In this paper, with its early play “Mao Ape” as the research object, this article intends to demonstrate the use of expressionism in this play and its effects. In this work, O’Neill cleverly uses masks, soliloquy, symbolism and non-realistic scenes to externalize the complex inner world of characters and reveal the dramatic themes and atmosphere of the rendering stage. This article is divided into three parts: the first part briefly introduces the play “Mao Ape”; the second part is the core part of this article, focusing on the expressionist techniques and the resulting effects; the third part is the conclusion of the thesis .
