钢筋混凝土桥梁的上部构造,目前所采用的多层贴式防水层,实质上仍停留在建造最初的钢筋混凝土桥梁时所采用的防水层一样,那时是采用低标号的110—140混凝土,而行车道部分的路面铺砌层便建造在砂质垫层上。铺设贴式防水层是费力的,不能机械化施工,而又必须在干燥天气的一定温度下进行。按照铺设防水层的规程指示,每一层防水层的干燥和凝结时间约需16日,而铺设防水层的工作时间尚未计算在内。为了使桥梁能迅速地交付使用,建筑者常常违背防水层的铺设规定,没有遵照指示中规定的期限,铺设防水层也不符合质量要求,因此防水层就没有完成它的使命。
