Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice tells the story of four Victorian men and women in love and daily life. The narrative style is simple and plain, but it reflects the far-reaching social significance: women should be independent and self-reliant and should not be men’s dependents. The success of Elizabeth, the heroine of the novel, makes this social meaning vividly illustrated. However, since the society in which Austin is located is a patriarchal society, and the author was born into a middle-class family, the work reflects that the contradiction between men and women is not sufficiently sharp. The author himself is also more or less influenced by patriarchal society View impact. This article explores the progressiveness and limitations of the article “Pride and Prejudice” from the perspective of feminist criticism theory and affirms the enormous literary value of the book.
