To investigate the effect of tea polyphenols on the activity of angiotensin Ⅰ converting enzyme (ACE) in rats. Angiotensin I is converted to biologically active angiotensin II by the removal of the C-terminal His-Leu dipeptide under the action of ACE, resulting in a strong boost. Effects of Tea Polyphenols on ACE Activity in Rats by In Vitro and In Vivo Tests. The results showed that with the increase of tea polyphenol intake (45mg / kg, 90mg / kg, 180mg / kg), ACE activity was significantly decreased (84.43 ± 4.59u / μl, 75.17 ± 6.85u / μl, 60.19 ± 8.62 u / μl, P <0.05) showed that tea polyphenols inhibit rat ACE, which may play a role in lowering blood pressure.
