The interpretation of female figures in George Eliot’s work from the perspective of feminist narrative generally suggests that most women in George Eliot’s novels follow a similar pattern of fate. However, there are subtle differences in these similar fate patterns: women who essentially follow the traditional feminine virtues often end up in seemingly happy marriages, while those who deviate more from Victoria’s values are almost without exception tragically Die. George Eliot misappropriates the traditional slogan and angel paradigm in English literature, a move that is not simply a repetition of the paradigm. While honoring the traditional paradigm, novelists demonstrate their rebellion and satire on the traditional concept of women.
