As we all know, to complete a heavy maintenance inspection requires the use of thousands of tools. As each tool may expose the aircraft to foreign object damage (FOD), repair companies are beginning to pay more and more attention to tracking and remote control of service tools. Taking the practical experience of the introduction of the digital tool management and control system by the British Monarch Aerospace Engineering and Technology Corporation (MAEL) as an example, the advantages and the implementation process of adopting the new system are introduced in detail.
