The Soviet Union suffered huge personnel and material losses during World War II, the industrial and agricultural production was severely damaged, the living standard of the people dropped sharply, and the mortality rate and the morbidity rate were significantly higher. The economic conditions in the Soviet Union seriously affected the treatment of prisoners of war. Prior to 1947, prisoners of war had consistently had low food supply standards, relatively crowded living conditions and high morbidity and mortality rates. However, the Soviet government attaches great importance to the treatment of prisoners of war and has taken a series of measures to improve the treatment of prisoners of war. With the improvement of the domestic economic conditions in the Soviet Union, the prisoner’s detention is also being improved year by year. The food supply standards are continuously rising. The incidence rate and Mortality continues to decline.
