电气石岩是一种与元古代层控矿床有关的常见的岩石类型,在野外往往难以识别。这种岩石常以整合条带状石英-电气石岩石单元的形式产出。在拉姆章格尔,电气石岩产于最老的沉积岩（砂屑岩和菱铁矿岩）中。清晰的层理、滑动褶皱、撕裂碎屑以及与成岩黄铁矿共生,这一切都表明为沉积环境。细拉的浅绿色电气石晶体具有雁行状裂隙,这有力地支持了电气石是在变形前形成的观点。这种电气石晶体在平行c轴方向有光学分带和化学分带现象,还有不规则的生长层宽度——这支持电气石的区域性变质作用前成因说。分析结果表明,该电气石为富镁的变种“镁电气石”。
