Synesthesia is also called “transmutation” or feeling borrowed. Psychologists believe that people’s vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch and other sensory organs can be connected with each other to describe, resulting in a wonderful beauty. That is to say, each individual’s eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and sensory areas are by no means mutually isolated, but rather interlinked. Well, the artistic image created by literary works acts on various sensory feelings of the readers and certainly can get through with each other. This phenomenon, in psychology or linguistics terms, is “synesthesia”, “transmutation” or “sensory borrowing.”
