In October 2014, oil prices fell below $ 90 a barrel, the first time since the brief fall in June 2012. At that time, as the situation was now, the drop in oil prices was mainly due to the weakening of the economic data in the euro area and China, coupled with the recovery of Libya’s crude oil production. Crude oil production in Iraq and the United States also reached higher levels, and Saudi Arabia did not reduce its exports, but on the contrary increased to make up for Libya’s earlier export reduction. Prior to this, oil last fell below 90 US dollars / barrel a month or in the aftermath of the global financial crisis in October 2008, and only two years later, oil prices will be back above that level.
