Conducting polymers are excellent materials for the fabrication of electronic devices because their properties can be tuned by funetionalizing the backbone. In this respect,Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) is the conjugated polymer most widely used in organic electronics.PEDOTs high conductivity, stability and optical transparency in the doped state, make it highly attractive as an electrode material. However, the commercial PEDOT:PSS colloidal solution is strongly acidic and the morphology, the film properties and consequently the device performance strongly depend on the PSS-Shell.
