Background: Currently bisphosphonates are first-line drugs for osteoporosis; they are also the rapeutic agents that decrease the effects of hypercalcemia in malignant disease or relieve pain associated with various bone pathologies.On the other hand, bisphosphonates have raised concerns about the side effects related to osteonecrosis of the jaws.Objective: To summarize the prevention and treatment of Bisphosphonate (BPs)-associated Osteonecrosis of the jaws (BONJ).
