As a useful and non-destructive method,neutron radiography (NR) can be applied for in situ investigation of macroscopic changes inside the lithium-ion batteries during electrochemical cycling.The principles and favorable properties of NR is introduced in brief,and then the progresses of application of NR for research in lithium-ion cells are reviewed,including in situ measurement of the movement and distribution of lithium ions,the consumption of electrolyte,the gas evolution rate and spatial distribution,etc.The possibility of application of NR at this field at the neutron science platform of China Advanced Research Reactor in the future is also discussed.
