Purpose Bone marrow involvement (BMI) detected by either bone marrow biopsy (BMB) or PET-CT at the initial staging (PET(0)-CT) may have an important value in newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).The aim of our study was to confirm the diagnostic and prognostic value of BMI assessed by PET(0)-CT (PET(0)-BMI),evaluate the impact of PET(0)-BMI on the classical International Prognostic Index (IPI) and the significance of BMI detected by PET(inter)-CT (23 cycles of standard R-chemotherapy) (PET(inter)-BMI).
