Objective To evaluate the effect of dual source CT (DSCT) on left ventricle volume and function of pigs after close myocardial contusion, and make a comparison with the result before and after close myocartial contusion of pigs. Methods Fifteen small Guizhou-Panama pigs were enrolled. The close myocardial contusion animal model was successfully built by a small impactor, dual source CT cardiac scan was applied before and lh,2h,4h,8h after contusion,Data of left ventricle were acquired, and then post-processed with the software Circulation to obtain End-systolic volume(ESV),end-diastolic volume(EDV),left atrial ejection fraction(LAEF).Results 1h after contusion,EDV and EF decreased obviously when ESV were not significantly difference with before contusion.2h after contusion,ESV presented descend, EDV is similar with lh after contusion, EF decreased further.4h after contusion,ESV, EDV and EF recovered, but still lower then before contusion.12h after contusion, ESV recovered to the lever of before contusion,EDV and EF still lower then before contusion slightly. Conclusion Dual source CT could obtain the data of left ventricle function, and reflected the change of left ventricle function before and after contusion accurately.Dual source CT need not depent on the heart rate, and have the advantages of non-invasive and speediness,so it would make a vital role in human heart function evaluation after myocardial contusion.
