Male sterility elicited by chemical hybridizing agent (CHA) provides a rapid and effective pollination-control system in hybrid seed production.Tribenuron-methyl(TM), a sulphonylurea herbicide, was used to induce male sterility in rapeseed.TM was applied at several levels at the bolting stage, and it was found that application of 0.05mg/L tribenuron-methyl twice could result in nearly 100％ male sterility.
