Ni-catalyzed cross-coupling of unactivated secondary alkyl halide with alkylborane is a straightforward and efficient way to construct alkyl-alkyl bond.The mechanism of this reaction catalyzed by Ni with trans-N,N’-dimethyl-1,2-cyclohexanediamine (L1) ligand was elucidated by using theoretical calculations.
