Flocculation of cement particles depends on shear rate. The change of particle size was often monitored via a laser reflectance measurement, where the increase of cement particles was observed. The rotational speed of an agitator also changes the mean value of particle size distribution.High frequency of rotation reduces the mean particle size. However, the agitators develop a specified shear field and the effect of the rate of shear strain could not be deeply investigated. That is an obstacle to quantitatively understand the flocculation under a specific shear rate. This study looks for a system for measuring cement particle size under a specific shear rate.Devising optical-back reflection measurement (ORM) under a rheometer allows us to monitor the flocculation at a give shear rate.
