Inspired by the fascinating structure and intriguing biological activities of hyperforin,a characteristic polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols (PPAPs) from St.Johns wort,our group has aimed at acylphloroglucinol derivatives as one of our major research interest in recent years.Acylphloroglucinol,a key intermediate in the biosynthesis pathway of many PPAPs,is an interesting scaffold of high reactivity.
