Aims:The purpose of this work was to find out whether the bioavailability of silymarin can be improved by administering silymarin incorporated in N-dodecyl-N,O-carboxymethyl chitosan (DCC) micelles.Method:DCC with different degree of substitution (DS) of alkyl chains were synthesized and the chemical structure was characterized by Fourier transform infrared,1H nuclear magnetic resonance,and elemental analysis.Silymarin-loaded DCC micelles were prepared by using a simple dialysis process.
