Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is a necrotrophic ascomycete fungus with an extremely broad host range.This aggressive pathogen is bolstered by a wide array of cell wall degrading enzymes and secondary metabolites.Sclerotinia also produces the non-specific phytotoxin and key virulence factor, oxalic acid (OA).
