　　Carbon-ion radiotherapy (C-ion RT) offers superior dose distribution in the treatment of tumor volume compared with conventional X-ray radiotherapy.In addition, carbon-ion beam has a higher relative biological effectiveness (2-3 folds) compared with X-ray beam.C-ion RT at Gunma University Heavy Ion Medical Center (GHMC) was initiated in 2010.GHMC is a small size facility and has a compact prototype of the accelerator system.
