Quinoxalines are an important class of nitrogen-containing heterocyclesthat possess a broad spectrum of physiological and biological activities.1 Although a number of methods are available for the synthesis of racemic 4,5-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxalines, methods for their preparation in a catalytic asymmetric fashion are limited.Therefore, it is highly desirable to develop efficient catalytic asymmetric methods for the synthesis of optically active 4,5-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxalines.
