Background HDL,paraoxonase 1 (PON1) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) form a functional ternary complex, which is involved in oxidative stress and atherosclerosis. The triangular relation among HDL,PON1 and MPO forms the scenario of oxidative stress and cholesterol regulation. The aim of study was to assess the interconnectivity between the peroxidation reaction system of MPO (MPO peroxidation activity and H2O2;PRSM) and reaction system of PON1 (PON1 activity and Ca2+;RSP1) and oxidative stress and cholesterol regulation in healthy participants and atherosclerotic patients with normal cholesterol levels.
