The production of plural nouns and personal pronouns in Chinese is an important development of the history of Chinese grammar. However, according to the study of typology, as a typical class marker (quantifier) language, it is unnecessary for Chinese to develop complex markers. This paper argues that the plural notation of Chinese is not the result of the development of Chinese, but the product of the language contact with Indian and Indo-European (Sutra translation). The author focuses on the relationship between the plural sign of the Chinese common language “” - “and the” “- generation” in the Buddhist Chinese in the Middle Age, and proves the source of this " significance.
