In bone tissue engineering and regeneration we have generated a unique transgenic mouse line, in which luciferase and GFP reporters are driven by a bone specific gene promoter and an actin promoter, respectively.Migration and fate of the transplanted cells from these mice can be tracked by GFP, and osteogenic differentiation can be monitored by luciferase expression.
