Metabarcoding is rapidly becoming an established method for rapid assessment of biodiversity but still requires improvements in three areas:Abundances are difficult to estimate from samples,taxonomies are difficult to assign to sequences,and DNA from some taxa,like mammals,is difficult to collect.
