Within the last decade, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) has facilitated the simultaneous quantification of more than 300 mycotoxins and other fungal metabolites in different commodities and has become crucial to elucidate the presence of mycotoxins in agricultural commodities. In addition, fast and easy-to-handle mass spectrometric assays as highly accurate isotope dilution reference methods for the quantification of all regulated mycotoxins have become available.
