Background, Motivation and Objective Simple equivalent circuits for CMUTs are not adequate especially when the devices are part of a large imaging array with crosstalk. Although accurate large signal models are available for CMUTs and electrical impedances can be extracted from them, they are not suitable for direct use with circuit simulators such as SPICE and Spectre. An accurate equivalent circuit representation incorporating nonlinearities and bias dependence is needed for fast simulations to determine noise performance, transient response, and stability of CMUT front end circuits.
