出于对明代诗学的反思,清初诗坛发起了对严羽《沧浪诗话》的猛烈攻击。冯班作为晚唐诗风的倡导者专作《严氏纠谬》一文,对严羽横加指责。但其与严羽却并无本质上的分歧,无非是二人论诗旨趣和宗法对象的不同。其中的某些言论,不免意气用事,过于苛责,但也部分纠正了严羽之失,宣扬了自己的诗学主张。 Out of the reflection on the poetics of the Ming Dynasty, the poetic circles in the early Qing Dynasty launched a fierce attack on Yan Yu’s Canglang Poetry.
