Cellular materials are inherently lighter than dense homogeneous materials. These materials can make several remarkable properties combining applications such as mechanics, acoustics, heat transfer, energy absorbers, bearing structures, battery electrodes, or more traditionally packaging and comfort in the case of polymers.Metal foams represent a class of cellular materials. The originality of this work lies in the type of material studied: a tin-lead binary alloy, whose tin content is 50% in weight, is used for the manufacture of metal foams with open cell.
