The article creates an unprecedented platform for preparing fluorescent microspheres derived from substituted polyacetylenes.The novel fluorescent polymeric microspheres (approx.600 nm in diameter) were prepared from substituted acetylene monomer by precipitation polymerization approach.The monomer containing dansyl group underwent precipitation polymerization in butanone/n-heptane mixed solvent, with (nbd)Rh+B-(C6H5)4 as catalyst.
