Plant architecture is a primary determinant of crop yield and has profound adaptability in response to environmental conditions. The pattern and timing of shoot branching, which determine overall biomass and ultimate yield of crops, are resulted from the coordination of the internal developmental program with external environmental stimuli.Tremendous efforts have been made and revealed that plant hormones and key transcription factors play critical roles in regulating the developmental flexibility of plant architecture. However, Plant hormonal regulation of shoot branching is complex and far from well understood.
