  Current structural health monitoring(SHM)techniques making use of guided waves are confronted by a few of inherent bottlenecks including particularly the restricted information that conventional linear signal features can convey,the inefficiency in detecting small-scale damage(e.g.,fatigue cracks),and the dilemma in striking a compromise between "sensing cost" and "sensing effectiveness".
