Myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate(MARCKS)is an actin binding protein substrate of protein kinase C.In Xenopus and mammals,MARCKS family protein has been shown to play critical roles in regulating cell motility, phagocytosis and membrane trafficking by crosslinking with actin filament.Herein we identified 4 MARCKS family genes, marcksa, marcksb, marcks like 1(marcksl1)and marcks like 2(marcksl2)in zebrafish.Zebrafish MARCKS family genes display distinct spatial and temporal expression patterns during early development.Among them, marcksb showed maternal expression and territory-specific expression during gastrulation.
