Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a form of dilated cardiomyopathy and a disease of unknown etiology occurring in the peripartum period in women without preexisting heart disease.There is paucity of data with respect to outcome of pregnancies in women with PPCM.Since there is no specific diagnostic test for PPCM, the diagnosis of this condition is by exclusion of other causes of left ventricular dilatation and systolic dysfunction.
