Aim Xiaochaihutang(XCHT) is a classic prescription in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of "Shaoyang syndrome", which involves depressive-like symptoms.Our previous study has demonstrated that XCHT reversed behavioral alterations in socially isolated mice after weaning.However, the effects of XCHT on adult rat model of chronic social isolation stress (CSIS) are not known.In the present study, we explored the effects of XCHT on the behavioral abnormalities of adult rat after CSIS.
