Glass pipettes are one of the most popular tools in manipulation of different types of solutions in chemical laboratory around world.Neher and Sakmann in 1976 employed the miniaturized pipette(micropipette)to measure the membrane potential and then invented the patch clamping technique.1986 Girault et al.supported the micro-liquid/liquid interfaces at the micropipettes and later on Shao and Mirkin further put down the size of pipette to nanometer and applied the dual micropipettes to study the generation/collection of ionic reactions. The micro/nanopipettes are playing important roles several areas of analytical chemistry. In this presentation,we will focus on the fabrication, characterization, modification and applications of these micro and nanopipettes in Analytical Chemistry.
