Phosphate glasses are a kind of amorphous materials possessing widespread applications in various fields. The number of constraints associated with phosphorus atoms can be easily verified via the reaction with other network formers and modifications.Based on the rules for quantitative composition dependent tendency of each type network formers, temperature dependent topological constrains theory is applied in analyzing glass transition temperature (Tg) and hardness. This methodology is used to predict properties of phosphate glasses, which can help to design high strength glass materials with relatively low Tg.
