Objective: To evaluate the failure pattern, actuarial risk, and risk factors of locoregional failure (LRF), as well as to identify the highest risk subset that may be indicated for PORT.Methods: Patients who underwent surgery for NSCLC with pathologically confirmed T1-3N1Mo disease in our institution from January 2007 to December 2008 were identified.Patients receiving any preoperative therapy, postoperative radiotherapy,or with positive surgical margins were excluded.LRF was defined as tumor recurrence within the bronchial stump,hilum, mediastinum, or supraclavicular fossa.LRF free survival(LRFFS) was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and differences between groups were compared using the log-rank test.A Cox regression multivariate analysis was used to identify risk factors for LRF.
