S-adenosyl-L-methionine synthase(SAMS)catalyze the biosynthesis of Sadenosylmethionine(SAM),which is a precursor for ethylene and polyamines,and a methyl donor for a number of biomolecules.SAMS also plays an important role in plant stress response.A full length cDNA of a S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine Synthetase gene(named ThSAMS)was isolated from the transcriptome cDNA librarys of Tamarix hispida.The open reading frame of ThSAMS cDNA was 1185 bp encoding 394 amino acids.
