A Carbon-based materials and porphyrins show great promise as new synthetic scaffolds for new functional materials for photovoltaic applications.We are reporting here our recent investigations into new carbon-based nanohybrid dyes of relevance in the search for new solar energy harvesting solutions.We describe a supramolecular chemistry route to new nanohybrid materials as an alternative approach the more synthetically demanding covalent chemistry approach commonly used for the attachment of porphyrins to carbon nanomaterials.
