The evolution of Forensic Information Modeling (FIM) from the investigation of the Minneapolis Bridge Collapse to the Cloud FIM used to assist the retrofit of the Sherman Minton Bridge in Kentucky is presented in this paper.Forensic Information Modeling acting as an extension of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a systematic approach for collecting disparate kinds of information,including maintenance records,material testing,documents,drawing information and analysis results.The purpose of a FIM is twofold.It is developed to assist in determining which items of information are important both locally and globally for the structure.
