Objective CHPH model was established to: observe the effect of STS on SD rats in CHPH model; measure the expression of sGCβ1 in pulmonary arteries from CHPH rats and to make sure whether STS has any regulating effect on sGCβ1 aiming to provide the evidence for STS in treatment of CHPH.Methods CHPH rats were obtained using a hypoxic(10%O2)chamber by keeping them in the chamber for 21 days.Rats were treated by STS(30 mg/kg body weight/day)or equal volume of normal saline by intraperitoneal injection while exposed to hypoxia for 21 days.Normoxic control animals were put under room air condition and handled accordingly.Pulmonary hypertension parameters were assessed.Pathological slices were observed under light microscope.PASM tissues were isolated from CHPH rats or normoxic rats.Protein levels of sGCβ1 were detected by real-time PCR and western blotting.
