The significance of promoter mutation of miRNAs in lung cancer is poorly understood.Recent evidence showed that microRNA-7, a unique family member of miRNAs, was decreased expression and had emerged as an important regulator in the tumorigenesis of lung cancer.However, the underlying mechanism of downregulation of miR-7 in clinical lung cancer remains to largely unknown.Here, we investigated the sites mutation of miR-7 promoter in clinical lung cancer tissues using DNA sequencing.We found that there were G to C change at-617 site (25/39, 64.1%) and A to G change at-604 site (20/39, 51.3%) in miR-7 promoter region in clinical lung cancer tissues.Moreover, the expression of miR7 in cancer tissue with promoter sites mutation was lower than that in cancer tissue without sites mutation (p < 0.05).
