Exploiting electrons spin for information processing leads to the new field of spintronics,which holds the advantages of low energy consumption and high speed.To obtain high-performance spintronic devices,there are several challenges ahead,including spin-polarized carrier injection,long-distance spin-polarized transport,and effective manipulation and detection of the carriers spin orientation.Using first-principles calculations with strong-correlated correction,we here propose a potential multifunctional La(Mn,Zn)AsO alloy to achieve direct electrical control of carriers spin orientation,1 and to make half metals with high Curie temperature,wide half-metallic gap,and large magnetic anisotropy energy which is promising for efficient spin-polarized carrier generation and injection.
