Objective: Yupingfeng is a traditional Chinese complex prescription that has been used efficaciously in China to treat respiratory tract diseases such as respiratory infection and chronic bronchitis.YTG (total glucosides of Yupingfeng) has been proven effective in anti-inflammation and immunoregulation.Nevertheless, the effect of YTG on pulmonary fibrosis (PF), a chronic respiratory disease with no satisfactory treatment yet, remains unknown.High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) has been confirmed to participate in transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β 1) activity. However, whether HMGB1 regulates TGF-β 1 activation in PF needs further investigation. This study is to elucidate the effect of YTG on bleomycin (BLM)-induced PF and the related molecular mechanism.
